I don't write many checks anymore - not many at all. I probably write four checks a month now. I pay my mortgage by check and I pay a few utility bills by check - that's it. Everything else is paid via by bill pay, Paypal, or cash. But nonetheless, I still need to buy checks once every couple of years. And if I absolutely have to buy them, they may as well be cheap.
So I started looking online last night for the absolute cheapest checks available. I didn't want designer checks or duplicate checks or fancy check registers or anything other than pieces of paper with my banking information on them. I just wanted dirt cheap checks to pay a few bills with each month. After searching for several hours and comparing every check printing service I could find, I had a big list of services, prices, minimum order amounts, and shipping costs. After one more permutation of a google search for 'cheap checks' I finally found it - CheapoChecks.com. This site is what I was looking for all along. It had all of the same information I manually found neatly compiled into a useful table - check printing service, lowest cost, shipping cost, etc. It would have been nice to find this site a few hours earlier, but at least by blogging about it I can save other people some precious time.
I finally ended up going with Carousel Checks because they had a deal to get a second box of checks for jut 99 cents, the checks were cheap, and so was the shipping. Hopefully I won't go through this ordeal again anytime soon. And if you read this post you won;t have to go through it at all :)
